My father sardar Bikram Singh served as Assistant Superintendent in this jail from 1928 to 1935. He retired as Deputy superintendent jails in December 1950 He died in 1978. My fathers colleague and our next door neighbour in this jail was Sheikh Mohammed Hussain.He belonged to Kasur,Baba Bulle Shah's town.I am over 79 years of age now but very vividly and fondly remember those days.Our family had lot of agricultural land in chak number 351 EB near Arifwala and in chak number 21/2L near Renala Khurd ( mallian wala)Left those areas at Partition. Incidently I was borne in chak 21/2L IN Jan 1929. |
