This church lies in the heart of the town and was begun in 1675. It was substantially rebuilt during the suceeding century. The current church tower was added in the nineteenth century. In the nineteen twenties a major restoration took place in order to give the church back its eighteenth century character. The altarpiece is a seventeenth century painting of the crucifixion. Carved reliefs around the altar, depicting the institution of the Eucharist, date back to the seventeenth century.
