The District Engineer Compound is better known by the name of its tenant, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Far East District. Formerly property of Seoul National University, turned over to USACE in 1951. Originally scheduled to be closed in 2012 and turned over to the South Korean Ministry of National Defense, there are not currently any plans to turn the property back over until Operational Control is returned to South Korea in 2015. Seoul National University will probably take control of the property after 2015.
