Qalat-Ghilzais - Fortress Ghilzai. Fortress was once very important: it controlled the movement between Kandahar and Kabul. More than once a fortress, and with it the town of Kalat was destroyed, passed from hand to hand and rebuilt. Now, of course, Kalat lost its strategic importance, but for the southern nomads, it remains the center, the capital. And many of the concerns of the tribes are still being decided here. Nomads have always played a prominent role in the life of Afghanistan, especially in modern times, when in the middle of the XVIII century, their tribal organization became the core of political self-Afghan state. Not one significant event in the life of the country is not complete without the participation of the Pashtun tribes.
