In the years gone by, it was seat of quality learning for kids of all communities... Over the years, the wonderful teachers have moulded generations of great citizens.
The Anglo-Indian teachers have made a huge contribution to society at large by educating 1000s of children who have reached many corners of the world. The Non-Anglo-Indian teachers have also made equally huge contributions! I am an ex student (1967 to 1975 after which I went to Stanes, Cbe) and still remember every (smiling) face of the teachers there.
Every teacher played a part in imparting both knowledge and arousing patriotism in us - whether it be the celebrations on Republic day and Independence day or the Indo-Pak war of 71 when we made huge contributions to the refugees by staging plays and helping to raise funds.
Favourite games and passtime - tops, kites, marbles, hockey, cricket, 7 tiles, hide and seek and most of all - wow! Monkey up the tree after lunch!
My Class 7 teacher was an intelligent, fatherly but strict Brahmin gentlemen who was a genius at maths and he even took us for a three day trip to the temples of Trichy which is still one of the best memories and experiences of my childhood.
It served as a soldiers refuge during the 2nd World War.
