Former Nike-Hercules AA missile launch site, converted to Pershing Quick Reaction Alert Site. One company of 1st Battalion, 41st Field Artillery was always deployed here from their main base at Schwäbisch Gmünd. The remaining companies would disperse to secluded forest sites during a NATO mobilization. The rectangular Pershing pads are being destroyed but the distinctive red-roofed buildings left over from the Nike era are mostly intact.
