Brazil / Espirito Santo / Cachoeiro de Itapemirim / Кашуэйру-ди-Итапемирин

Inaugurated on June 27, 1910 the mayor of Assisi Theoderico Ferraço attended by the then President of Brazil Nilo Peçanha, the iron bridge Demistóteles Baptista passes over the river Itapemirim. It was built in England by the Railway, a former company responsible for large facilities in Brazil, as the BR-101, the Golden Gate Bridge and the Trans. The bridge was designed by engineer Charles "le Bichon, a Frenchman known for his eccentricities and insisted that the design of the columns should be more concrete and Amazon timber than usual, to withstand occasional earthquakes occurring in the city. Today the bridge of iron, as it is popularly known among the people, is a road connecting the center to the neighborhood Airport and is part of a highway only two tracks that cut across the city, called the Red Line. The bridge still has a small wooden footbridge for pedestrians parallel the route, where some people tend to skip it when the river is with a high level. It is well known among historians that even the king Roberto Carlos in his youth used to jump off the bridge. Today the practice is prohibited by municipal law, and yet many people still jump into the river and many people still lose their lives to hit the hard rocks of the Rio Itapemirim or drowning in icy waters. On its left bank is located in a bohemian area with many restaurants, bars and nightclubs that are driving the night of the city and give the place a cheerful look and post modern.
On the right bank account with a small tunnel that was built by immigrants paquistans region Sonljuer, northern Pakistan, where many lost their lives and today there is a memorial to them at the entrance of the tunnel.
