hill, interesting place
Dausa is named after a nearby hill called Devgiri. On the top of hill is situated a fort, possibly built by Badgurjars. There are also five temples of Siva: Neel Kanth Temple, Bajnath Temple, Shajnath Temple, Somnath Temple, and Gupteshwar Temple. Dausa was the first capital of Kachwaha rajput empire before Amer and finally Jaipur. The founder of Kachwaha rajput empire, Dulhrai, came here from Narwar (Madhya Prdesh). He was married to Kumkumade, daughter of Salar Singh Chauhan, ruler of Mora (Garh Mora In District Karauli).
