This building was used by the textile manufacturer "Van Heek" as a warehouse (Dutch: "pakhuis", hence the name). Later it was used by Polaroid.

Now it is owned by the University of Twente (www.utwente.nl), and houses four studentsocieties and a cafe "De Beiaard".
