Almodówar (Round) Presidential Palace is located in At-Tawahi, Aden. It witnessed the flag-raising ceremony and the declaration of the Republic of Yemen in the 22nd of May 1990.

Almodówar earliest origins dates back to the 12th century Zurayid dynasty, expanded by the British. The palace witnessed bloody battles on the 26th of June 1978 when former South Yemeni president Salim Rubai Ali (Salmin) used it as fortification. He was executed after he surrendered at the end of the day.
