Das Kloster Vatopedi liegt auf dem Berg Athos. Zwischen 1999 und 2007 lebten 50 bis 80 Mönche im Kloster. In der hierarchischen Rangordnung der Athosklöster nimmt Vatopedi heute den zweiten Rang ein.
