Dalarna Museum is located near the centre of the town and is one of the most modern regional museums in the country. The permanent collections include traditional costumes and many examples of local arts and crafts created over the centuries. There is a recreation of the library at Selma Lägerlof’s home in Falun. Lägerlof is recognised as one of Sweden’s greatest writers and was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature. A range of temporary exhibitions is mounted. You will find a cafe, restaurant and shop here.
