The Pantheon of Illustrious Sailors is a building of neoclassic style, constructed in the XVIIIth century, located inside the enclosure of the military Population of San Carlos, in San Fernando (Cadiz), and in here they rest the mortal remains of numerous Spanish sailors. It began as Church of the Purest Concepcion, the works of construction began at the end of the XVIIIth century by order of Carlos III, and, for economic and political problems, did not finish until the middle of the XXth century. Of the exterior he emphasizes the sober and monumental front of neoclassic style and of the interior the foyer, of elliptical plant, and the church, from three ships and dome on the cruise. In the side stretches the different mausoleums of the sailors are located. Those Spanish naval officers killed at the Battle of Trafalgar are remembered here. The famous Spanish Admiral Gravina or Don Federico Carlos Gravina y Nápoli is buried here.
