conference centre, mansion / manor house / villa

Barnett Hill was built in 1905 for Frank Cook, grandson of the travel entrepreneur Thomas Cook. In 1940 the house was given to the Red Cross and St John War Organisation to use as a convalescent hospital and after the war it became The British Red Cross National Training Centre.
In 1976, to offset high operating costs, the Red Cross began leasing the property to businesses for courses and conferences. Sundial Group purchased the property from the Red Cross in 2005.
