  • Mahidpur is the Best place of this world.Do you know why.....? because Its my place. The only place in the world which is sweet and great. Because east or west home is the best.I born and brought-up there. my sweet school days memories are there. Peoples are very kind and humble. Its an historical place. mahidpur fort, Talakuchi ki bavari, and bhasmi ki tekari are the historical places. in 1817 a war between British an Maratha was faught in bhasmi ki tekari. and the result was Mandsaur treaty.dhulat, chintaman, kshipra, gangavadi are some other historical places. the sighn of Mesopetamia are also found in Mehidpur fort. Now I am far away from my home but i see this in the map. If u r also away from your sweet Mahidpur, do write your coments.

  • Mehidpur during British India was in Indore state of Central India, on the right bank of the Sipra, 1543 ft. above the sea, and 24 m. N. of Ujjain. Pop. (1901), 6681. Though of some antiquity and frequented by Hindu pilgrims, it is best known for the battle fought in the neighbourhood on 20 December 1817 (Battle of Mahidpur) , in which Sir John Malcolm defeated the army of Holkar. The result was the Treaty of Mandasor and the pacification of Malwa. Mehidpur was again the scene of some sharp fighting during the Indian Mutiny. The British cantonment, placed here in 1817, was removed in 1882. [1] Located at the bank of river Kshripra, city still has dilapidated old fort. Remnants of the war could be seen at a place named "Bhasmi Tekri" (Ashes Hill). City also has one of the oldest Mahalakshmi temple in the battle field. Tara Kunchi ri Bawdi (Lock & Key Well) near the battle field is underground link to flee Mahidpur fort. if you can add some thing more about mehidpur plz add. you will agree with me ki, Hum..... dunia me kahi bhi chale jae apani mitti se hamesha jude rahenge. kyuki mitti ka ye jo bandhan hai vo kabhi toot nahi sakta......Ap apane shahar se door hai lekin apane shahar ko net par zaroor talashte hai. isnt it a proof.
