Royal Canberra Golf Club is regarded as one of Australia's best inland course. Set in the picturesque Westbourne Woods arboretum, comparisons have been made with the famous Augusta National course in the USA. Certainly the variety of trees, including pines, birch and cedar as well as Australian natives, provides members and their guests with a sensory experience that matches anything the world of golf can offer.

Beautiful though the surrounds may be, however, Commander John Harris, the designer of the original layout, has contrived to fashion a golf course which challenges the golfer and tests his ability with every club in his armoury. Well - known Australian golfer, Peter Thomson, has added his incomparable stamp in his design of the Club's "Brindabella", third nine, where several links-style golf holes, sit comfortably with holes faithful to the original John Harris course. Royal Canberra is truly one of Australia's premier golf courses.
