This twenty-three acre CVRD park is located on the eastern side of Cobble Hill Mountain and was once the site of the Cobble Hill Lime Quarry. This once productive industrial site has now given way to a diverse plant and wildlife community, which grows around the historical features of this park. Some bird species reside year round and others are seasonal. Birds that call the park home at one time or another include: pileated woodpeckers, Hairy Woodpeckers, swansons thrush, varied thrush, stellars jay, northern flickers, robins, various types of sparrows, goshawks, and many others species. The area is primarily mixed coniferous fir, cedar and hemlock, with some deciduous maple and alder trees.
Quarry Nature Park offers beautiful views to the south and east. Trails for hikers and horses have been developed over the years. An old steam pump has been refurbished and put on display just below the old limestone quarry that was operated in the 1940s. Quarry Nature Park is the main access point into Cobble Hill Mountain Recreation Area and is also the home of the first off-leash dog park in the South Cowichan (built 2008).
