house, neighbourhood
Lesterhuis was a dominial farm ("voorwerk") of the nearby monastery of Termunten. The house as such was first mentioned in 1441, but is probably much older, relating to the 13th or 14th century. In 1441 , broder (lay brother) Huppen is the first known inhabitant. The specific area is known as monumentnr. 7004 (Archis). The most eastern farm is situated on a small height and has a canal at the south side, which once surrounded the squared area. This area is related to the mentioned late medieval farm.
