Historic City Hall Building

Taiwan / Yunlin / Huwei /
 police station  Add category

2008-- built in 1939 under Japanese rule, this is one of the only remaining buildings constructed during this time in Huwei. Originally housing City Hall and an assembly room, this was at one time the empty fire station the poster was describing as being next door. It is now being renovated and it appears they are going to make it a fire station. The bus and taxi depot IS still next door. The placard (see photo) is mounted on the wall and tells more history of the building-- SDI

  • Sorry, the first picture (on the left) is NOT of the Police Station. It is of the Post Office to the right of the Police Station next door. I will see if I can remove it as soon as I can figure out what these Chinese characters mean when I right click the photo. Thanks, Scott.
