Designed in 1899 by Theodore Eisen and Sumner P. Hunt for Sara and Oliver Posey. The Poseys moved out in 1900 shortly after moving in, and sold the property to the Dohenys. The center of the former Doheny Estate was donated to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese by Countess Estelle Doheny after her death in 1958. The Archdiocese later donated the home to Mount Saint Mary's College for their Doheny Campus. It was used as an interior filming location for the penultimate royal ball scene for "The Princess Diaries" (2001).
