In the year of 1898 , the project of a 'new city' was create by the engennier from Mogiana , the english James John Mellor . The project was trying to open six avenues behind the old part of the city and the new station of Mogiana. The most central part of this citys , atually Tubal Vilela's square , were destinate to construct a garden with the name 'Republic's Square'. That place has been used to groups meeting.
