The Chinese neighborhood of Montreal is the historic center of the Chinese in Quebec. The first businesses owned by Chinese immigrants to Montreal established themselves as early as 1877 on the streets Craig (Holy antoine) and of Bleury. As early as the end of the XIXe century draws a concentration of businesses, of clubs and of associations, and of residence places Chinese on the section of the street of The Gauchetière. Throughout the first half of the 20th century, one quarter of the population of Chinese origin of Montreal lives in this same perimeter.
