Public high school designed c. 1929 by James Gamble Rogers on the former property known as "Careswell", a sprawling Greek Revival estate owned by local financier Henry J. Baker. Rogers also designed a number of other Neo-Gothic structures at Yale University, New York University, Columbia University, and Northwestern University among others.
