Is the principal city in the Huila department (main territorial division). Is locate in the southwest of Colombia and in the east of Magdalena River above a valley, is very popular for a local festivity called "San Pedro". With 1553 Km2 of surface and 442 meters above the sea level is a very hot city with an average of 30°C. Has approximatelly 350.000 inhabitants. The main economic activities include agriculture and the commerce. Like in all Huila department "Achiras" (biscuits)are the most popular food.
