Comments

  • The stadium was named "Olympic" because of the Asian Games that were planned to take place in Ashgabat. For some reason the project was cancelled (probably because of the start of the unti-terrorist campain in Afganistan). This is a great place to go in a warm summer evening.
  • stadium with bad grass, i watched on tv in jakarta when turkmenistan vs indonesia for pre world cup (preleminiary) july 2011, the grass is worst, not standard for olympic stadium its very different by condition of jakarta main stadium bung karno (stadion utama bung karno, jakarta or SUBK), SUBK established 1960 has good grass and 80.000 capacity.
