Merlo Slott is an imposing castle-like building that lies on the southern edge of Timrå. It was built as a summer residence for the wealthy timber magnate Frederick Bünsow during the later years of the nineteenth century. The architects were Isak Gustaf Clason and Fritz Eckert. Clason is known as the designer of the Nordic Museum. Some of the rooms are particularly well preserved, such as the library, and are well worth seeing.
