Shinob Kibe is small sloping mesa that sits above the Virgin River named for the Southern Paiute deity Shinob (Great Spirit) and incorporating the word kiab (mountain). It may have been a sacred place to the Southern Paiutes as well as a place of refuge for them against their enemies.

Near the highest point on the southern mesa rim edge is a large concrete arrow, the remains of an aviation route guide system built in the 1930s.
