The Chrisman Pumping Plant lifts water in the California Aqueduct 518 feet, allowing the water to begin a gradual descent across Tejon Ranch towards the Edmonston Pumping Plant. Named after Ira J. Chrisman, chairman of the California Water Commission from 1967-76.
