great local club good entainment, very clean club, very resonable drink prices, only bad comment would be a very rude barman on m onday evening shift ,makes it seem a real effort to serve you rather than being polite.will put new people of going..

I was surprised at the warmth of the welcome at this club. Absolutely amazed at the low prices of drinks and the variety or entertainment and activities something for everyone from fishing to golf to skittles.definately somewhere worthy of visiting on a regular basis.

As an ex-serviceman's club, I fully intended to join, but alas, on a visit last Friday by invitation, I found it more of a working man's club than one with a military connection. The committee is a lot to be desired, with aparently no leadership or guidance from the, loosely used term 'officers', who I am told were ex national servicemen with no real knowledge of the services. As an ex major in the Coldstream Guards, I thought it would be a club where ex servicemen of what ever service, could have a common ground to discuss the often interesting service experiences. Remove the military umbrella, and name it as it is, "The Pokesdown and Southbourne Working Man's Club"
