Los Queltehues is a small town built around a Power generation plant. All workers and their families lived there with many facilities provided by "Chilectra" one of the few power companies at the time. From a tourist's point of view, it is not very clear what caused this beautiful place to be abandoned. It could be used as another Andean tourist attraction with an interesting history and beautiful memories of so many families who enjoyed their lives whilst there, but also had to endure the very hard andean wheather and hard work. Where is the sense of preservation and appreciation I wonder? It's places like Los Queltehues that give us the opportunity as humans to recognize and appreciate the beauty of Nature and humans working together. This place should never be forgotten.
