This land was originally part of the neighboring "Greentree" estate which was donated by the Whitney family to become the hospital grounds. Also called "North Shore Manhasset", this hospital is the flagship hospital of the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System.

The Payson-Whitney Medical Tower and Maternal & Child Health Center were designed in 1976 by Ferrenz & Taylor.
