School of Architecture and Geodesy at the University of Alcalá de Henares.
The building, formerly Carmen School Shoes convent founded in 1567, went through various vicissitudes architecture.
According to experts, the current trace of this building is defined around 1640. For that reason, the aesthetics of the whole continues to detail, the procedural and structural complutense Baroque classicism. Despite the ravages suffered by these walls, the presence of the two doors of the church, and another dating from the XVI century and which has a triangular pediment and coat of arms on the eardrum. Once inside, stands the use of brick and limestone, forming a series or gradation of shades that can be admired in other parts of the city.
In the seventies was demolished the dome of the old church. A sharp end of which was fought Carmen chapel, which still retains the dome. Fortunately, this deterioration sent through the restoration plans undertaken by the Joseph Knight Foundation, established in honor of the famous painter born in Huelva in 1916 and died in Madrid in 1991, which was part of the artists approached the environment Private Cisneriana University Students and was a good friend and collaborator of the poet Federico García Lorca, participating in the surrealist movement and staying creative in the vicinity of the Generation of 27.
