Terminus of the 46 km UNESCO World Heritage Site: Nilgiri Mountain Railway from 1908, after the line was extended from Coonoor. It has Retiring rooms for tourists, and few daily trains running between Ooty and Coonoor, one of these going onward to Mettupalayam to offer connectivity with the Chennai-Mettupalayam Nilgiri Expresses.
