Hormuz (Persian: جزیره هرمز) is an Iranian Island in the Persian Gulf. With an area of 42 km² (16 square miles), it is located in the Strait of Hormuz and is part of Hormozgān Province, Iran.
This beautiful and attractive Island of Persian Gulf is 18 km east of Qeshm island and about 16 km southeast of Bandar Abbas. The highest point of this area is about 186 m above the sea level, and its thickest part is 8 km. For the lack of raining, and salty soil and water, naturally there should be no plants and grasslands in this area; but Iranian active specialists cultivated Hara trees in Hormoz Island and made it a green plushness Island. Naturally, Hormoz Island doesn't have drinking water, so Iranian engineers decided to use underground piped water from the main Land of Iran.
