The Amir Timur Museum, with turquoise dome and ornate interior, features exhibits about the life and times of the great conqueror Timur (Tamerlane). It was built in celebration of Timur's 660th birthday.

The gardens surrounding the museum contain a statue of Timur on horseback and some prominent fountains.
