History: This building is known to most townspeople as Bishop & Watrous, Inc. Oliver Bishop and Claude Watrous in 1916 bought the Chester Sanitary laundry on this site. In 1920 they founded Bishop & Watrous Novelty Works. In 1922 they bought the Paper Box Shop business. The three businesses operated there for many years. the building dates from the 1930s. the Novelty Works business was the last to be here; it was bought by J. Geils Company in 1983.
