Taki-no Yu Public Bath (Osaki)

Japan / Miyagi / Furukawa / Osaki
 bathhouse, onsen

A small traditional wooden onsen bath with bluish-white sulphorous water (it is a mix from two hot springs, of which one is clear), very cheap (just 150 Yen); not to be missed! Not it is just pleasant but also nice and interesting, with the wooden pipes providing casades of hot water in two tubs of different temperature (that is: hot and very hot). Bring your own towel, or buy one.

The place is so nice that many visitors take photos, even though this is not allowed, strictly speaking.

As the holy bath of the nearby Shinto Shrine, the public bath has more than 1000 years of history.
