Sherpur Upazila (Bogra district) with an area of 296.27 sq km, is bounded by Bogra sadar upazila on the north, Raiganj and Tarash upazilas on the south, Dhunat upazila on the east, Nandigram upazila on the west. Main rivers are Bangali and Karatoya.
The location of Sherpur town is 24.6733626N 89.4129395E. Sherpur (Town) consists of 9 wards and 18 mahallas. The area of the town is 6.74 sq km. The town has a population of 22352; male 50.68%, female 49.32%; density of population is 3316 per sq km. Literacy rate among the town people is 55.1%. The town has one rest house.
Sherpur thana was established in 1962 and was turned into an upazila in 1983. The upazila consists of one municipality, 9 union parishads, 231 mouzas and 313 villages.
