The minor earthworks that connected Fort Barrancas to its Advanced Redoubt continued several hundred yards beyond. A minor earth and wood reboubt was located here, at the end of that line, securing the right flank of the navy yard fortifications and preventing any crossing of Redoubt Bayou.
