Tala (Bengali: তালা) is an upazila of the Satkhira District in the Khulna Division of Bangladesh. It was established in 1913 and made an upazila in 1983.

Geography
Tala is located at 22.7500°N 89.2500°E. It has 47394 households and a total area of 344.15 km².

Demographics
As of the 1991 Bangladesh census, Tala has a Population Total 294400. 51.31% of the population is male, and 48.69% is female. ; male 152017, female 142383; Muslim 21,2029, Hindu 7,9867, Buddhist 2,143 and others 361. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 134,828. Tala has an average literacy rate of 29.7% (7+ years); the national average is 32.4%. Drinking water is a major problem.

Administration
Tala has 12 unions, 150 mouzas, and 228 villages.

Education
There are two government school in Tala Upazila. During the time of Hussain Arshad this two was recognized at 1988.They are Tala B.Dey government high school for mainly boys and Shaheed Ali Ahmed government girls school.Here is also a renowned high school named Khalishkhali magura satish chandra collegiate school (K.M.S.C)

College
There is a govt college established at 1969 but become under government at 1988. It is Tala govt college.

Religious institutions:
Tentulia Jami Mosque is most notable.
