This is Mweru High School which stands where Mweru Detention and Screening Camp used to be. During the colonial days Mweriu was a transit Centre for Mau Mau detainees. There is a monument which used to be a Britsh torture chamber right at the centre of the school compound. Today it is the largest secondary school in the southern part of Mukurwe-ini District.
