The LA County assessor lists the construction date for this building as 1939. Sometime in 1974, it was converted by Carlos Tobalino into a twin theatre known as the X Theatre, usually showing adult films. Sometimes it would show Hollywood double bills on one side and XXX films on the other. It closed in 1977.
