Katonah is a hamlet (and Census Designated Place) in the Town of Bedford, NY. It was moved to its current location when the original Katonah was going to be flooded by construction of a reservoir for the New York City Croton water system. It is commonly referred to as a village, or "Katonah Village" even though it has no such legal status under NYS law. The population was 1,679 as of the 2010 census.
