Lincoln (not named for President Lincoln) is a small hill country town nestled in the Green Mountains of Vermont. Mount Abraham
(named for President Lincoln and formerly called Potato Hill) and the New Haven River are the prominent geographical features in the
town. Intrepid skiers have been known to skin toward the top of Mt. Abe and Lincoln Peak and then head into the Mad River Valley and
two of Vermont's best ski resorts, Mad River Glenn and Sugarbush. Lincoln Gap, when it's not closed for the winter months, is an
easier short cut across and it's Vermont's highest gap at about 2,400 feet. Lincoln has a general store and lots of trees. It's an
outdoorsman's paradise with activities such as snowmobiling, hunting, hiking, skiing, biking, and kayaking. Much of Lincoln is Green
Mountain National Forest.
