Turkish managed luxury hotel opened in 2010. During the dying days of the Gaddafi regime, the hotel served as housing for foreign journalists. As the regime collapsed, the journalists were held as prisoners for a number of days by soldiers loyal to Gaddafi. The hotel closed in 2014.
