A Christ-enlightened church, designed by Professor Ilmari Ahonen was inaugurated in 1959. Icon artist Petros Sasak and fresco artist Alkiviadis Kepolas are responsible for the frescos and icons of the church altar and church hall 1988 – 2005, that even today are still perhaps some of the most significant cre-ations of the pictorial art of the Bysan-
tine church in Scandinavia.
