Comments

  • This was originally the site of the Robert Means Mason Estate. The original mansion was built in 1852 by Seth Bradford; it was later remodeled by H.H. Richardson @ 1882.
  • Ellen Mason, the daughter of R.M. Mason, replaced the Richardson house with the new house by Irving Gill.
  • Curious, ironic. Gill's best work in California is now gone. It seems the Mason family knew how to pick architects
  • Was Ellen Mason by any chance related to Rufus and Chatlotte Osgood Mason?
