Mentioned for the first time in 1050, the castle, in a green setting followed by Dive, took its current aspect after the works which transformed into 1721 the old fortress going back to the XIth century. The castle and its church are classified Historic monuments. During the last years lounges and chambers were completely decorated by two artists who knew how to recreate the luxurious and very sophisticated atmosphere of a house of XVIIIe century, with its wall coverings, its curtains, its)furniture, its multiple lovingly collected objects. The word Ailly derives from Latin "Aillium" (property surrounded with walls).
