Ojala residence used to be a farm house owned by Augusta Durchman. The building was erected at the end of 1800. By Durchman´s donation the house was renovated in the year of 1913 to serve as a shelter for sick and old people. During the years 1957-1975 the building served as an old people´s home. In 1981 it was opened to the public as a museum.
