March Haigh Reservoir
This reservoir sits at the bottom of a valley surrounded by vast gently sloping mountains on three sides and. The bottom of the valley is relatively flat and has many walking paths, which pass on the reservoir wall. The March Hill which flanks one side of this reservoir is craggy and has massive rock formations. There is a car park at the top of the heights. View from that point towards the reservoir is quite enchanting. On a clear day, the Huddersfield Road A62 can be viewed for about 3-4miles untill Marsden from the March Hill. A few episodes of Coronation Street have been shot at March Hill.
The Reservoir water levels alter with the season, infact the picture marked shows hardly any water. Except in High Summer, the reservoir has abundance of water.
For Walkers, this Reservoir provides an good walk and at the same time, one can keep an eye on their car parked at March Hill. :)
Like many other desolate reservoirs, this reservoir attracts a lot of Birds from around.
